Choosing Smart Switches and Sockets for Your Target Market

Match EU, US, UK, AU and BR switch and socket forms to your destination market before sourcing, and confirm wiring, neutral and load per model.

Smart switches and sockets are sourced by market form first. Two products with the same features can still be unusable on the same market if the wall box, plate form or plug standard differs. This guide covers what distributors, brands and project buyers should confirm before requesting samples or a quotation.

Start with the market form, not the feature list

The range is organised by regional form as well as by function. Wall switch forms cover EU, US and BR directions, and socket forms cover EU, US, FR, BR, AU, UK, JP, India/South Africa, Vietnam and Italy. Start by naming the destination market, then match the form.
Review the switch directions on the smart switches page: smart switch directions for OEM and wholesale.
Socket and plug forms are grouped separately: smart plugs and remote sockets.

Wall switches: match the form to the market

European markets are served by EU-format touch switches, including the WHK series and curved glass panels. The US direction includes tempered curved glass switches and button switch series S2, S3 and S4. A touch switch series is offered for the EU and UK together. Brazil uses combined switch and socket forms.
Curved glass panels are available in both directions: EU curved glass smart switch and US curved glass smart switch.
US button switch series: US smart button switch series S2-S4.

Sockets and plugs: the form is the market

Plug and socket form is the single most market-specific decision. Brazilian and Australian standard socket series are supplied with glass panel or aluminium frame options, and EU plug directions include energy-monitoring models. Confirm the destination standard before comparing features.
Brazilian and Australian standard sockets: BR and AU standard smart sockets.
EU plug direction with energy monitoring: 16A EU smart plug with energy monitor.

Check wiring, neutral requirement and load before ordering

Form is not the only installation check. Neutral-wire availability, wall-box depth, lamp type and load range decide whether a model can be installed as intended. Neutral-wire requirements differ between models and should never be assumed from the series name.
Retrofit and no-neutral wiring checks are covered separately: no-neutral smart switch guide.

What to send for a model recommendation

Send the destination market and standard, the product type and form, wall-box dimensions, neutral-wire availability, lamp type and expected load, preferred protocol, estimated quantity and any branding or packaging requirements. These details let us match the closest models and prepare a quotation that reflects your market.
Send your switch or socket requirements to our team: request a switch and socket recommendation.
For private-label or custom projects, review the workflow first: LakiSmart OEM and ODM process.

Frequently asked questions

Is one wall switch form valid in several markets?

Not across the board. Forms are market-specific, and some series cover more than one market while others do not. Confirm the standard for each destination before ordering.

Does every smart switch work without a neutral wire?

No. Neutral-wire requirements differ by model. Check the wiring requirement for the exact model and, for retrofit projects, test the intended lamp and load before approval.

Can the same socket form be used in several countries?

Socket forms follow national standards, so the destination market decides the form. Tell us the market and we will confirm which socket direction applies.
